All About Jade
Born in the UK
Jade was born in the absolutely freezing town of Wick, in the highlands of Scotland. Thankfully, her mother made the decision to move her down to slightly warmer Hastings in the South East of England when she was two, where she stayed until she went off to study languages at Aberystwyth University in awfully nippy Wales. She has also been on holiday in bloody cold Dublin, Ireland, so she is a well-rounded British lass.
If you want to get nattering in another language too, some of my posts on here include all my language-learning tips and talk about the tools I learnt to get where I am now!
love socialising
I need people in my life. I genuinely go crazy if I'm alone for too long. It's also one of the reasons behind wanting to learn so many languages. The more I can speak, the more friends I can make!
Love dancing
I can dance for hours. I can teach dancing for hours. I can make up ridiculous dance routines for hours. Check out Tap Dance Today (click on the heart) on Youtube for when I eventually get round to uploading more dance routines!
Love music,
especially piano
My first ever job was teaching the piano. Such lovely memories! Learning "Bohemian Rhapsody" destroyed my wrist though, and now I can make it click at will - wonderful!
Love travelling
The entire purpose of this blog! To share some of my brilliant and not-so-brilliant travel tales and advice with all you lovely lot. I have so far lived in four different countries and visited thirteen others (including lots of great cities within each country)!
I promise you won't get bored
follow me on my travels
As I have lived in Japan for four years now, a lot of this stuff is going to revolve around fun things to do and see there. Get ready for some absolute Japanese madness!
Why not? You might just enjoy yourself. Or think that I’m a smeg. Either way, if you get a laugh out of some of this stuff or learn something, then that’s me sorted.
I was actually born brunette, but, as some absolute smeg yelled at me one fine evening in the middle of Shinjuku in Tokyo, “Your freckles are wasted on you! Why aren’t you ginger!?”, it occurred to me that he might have a point. Was I actually destined to be ginger? I took the plunge and loved it.
What will I be blathering on about?
Travel
Oh smeg, where am I now?
I have a few tales to tell about my travels. Most include mayhem and end in much-needed life lessons.
Languages
Become a polyglot like me
I may not be a genius, but I have somehow managed to learn several languages. Want any tips?
Relationships
Find me somebody to love
I have also managed to have several foreign boyfriends over the years. Cultural differences, anyone?
